RELIGION:THE BEST BUSINESS IN INDIA

I honestly believe that people earn a lot in the name of religion in our country.Religion plays a very central role in Indian society and culture. You must have seen how most of the famous temples and historic places in India have been commercialised that it feels like a hotel or a tourist spot more than a temple.

People(especially tourists) are also lied to, robbed and cheated in the name of God or saints.Innumerable things are sold outside temples and people with beliefs are easily convinced to buy them.

A big example to this perspective will be the bollywood film 'Oh My God' which featured  Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal in the lead roles .Kanji bhai (Paresh Rawal) is an atheist who doesn't believe that God exists but makes his living by selling godly idols. One night his shop gets destroyed by an earthquake that the insurance people term as an 'act of god'. Left with no other option he files a case against God leaving godmen sitting on the opposite side to defend God.

Roles like Mithun Chakraborthy's made it more funny.I would say it's a must watch for  Indians.

I'd like to quote Kabir Das

Translation
Where do you search me? I am with you
Not in pilgrimage, nor in icons, Neither in solitudes
Not in temples, nor in mosques Neither in Kaba nor in Kailash
I am with you o man, I am with you
Not in prayers, nor in meditation, Neither in fasting
Not in yogic exercises, Neither in renunciation
Neither in the vital force nor in the body, Not even in the ethereal space
Neither in the womb of Nature, Not in the breath of the breath
Seek earnestly and discover, In but a moment of search
Says Kabir, Listen with care, Where your faith is, I am there.
